Protocol · Shipping
A simple secure protocol.
Cards arrive at the atelier in perfect condition when packed correctly. Follow the six steps below - the same protocol used by professional graders worldwide.
Penny sleeve
Insert the card in a fresh penny sleeve. Never re-use a sleeve that has been creased, scratched or contains dust.
Semi-rigid holder
Place the sleeved card in a Card Saver I or equivalent semi-rigid holder. This is the grading industry standard for protection in transit.
Cardboard protection
Sandwich the holder between two pieces of rigid cardboard, cut slightly larger than the card. Tape the edges with painter's tape - never directly on the card or sleeve.
Bubble wrap
Wrap the entire package in two layers of bubble wrap. The card should not move when shaken.
Rigid outer box
Use a small cardboard box - never a padded envelope. Cards in envelopes are bent in sorting machines and arrive damaged.
Tracked & insured shipping
Ship with a tracked and insured service: bpost, PostNL, DHL, UPS or FedEx. Declare the full replacement value, keep your tracking number, and we confirm receipt within 24h.
Important - shipping disclaimer
Use a cardboard box. Never a padded envelope.
Padded envelopes are bent, stacked and machine-sorted; cards inside arrive damaged. A small rigid box costs less than €2 and protects the value of your investment. Please note: Vault Restoration is not responsible for loss or damage during transit to our facility - your carrier and insurance cover the package until it is signed for at the atelier.
